The focus of this lesson is for students see each other and themselves. Through slow looking, drawing and discussion, students investigate elements that make us who we are. We look at portraits and describe what we see, make continuous line portraits of one another (without looking!) and of ourselves, in which we emphasize one of our features.

Students will engage in an improv game to practice collaboration through a listening, observation, and response exercise. They will then work on short scenes in pairs to explore how punctuation can change the meaning and tone of a story. The lesson will result in a final performance of a short script that combines the ideas and contributions of the group members.
Students will explore different ways they can use their voice and body through warm-ups and drama games. In small groups, students will use these skills to act out a short story in collaboration with others.
